68 69 70 AMX door panel watershield kit.

Mylar water shields protect your obsolete door panels, which are cardboard and vinyl, from elements. AMC originally used waterproof paper inside the panels. This takes it a step further and will last longer than the vehicle. Pre cut holes for remote mirror, lock, armrest screws, window crank, and FloThru vent; simply twist to remove. To affix it to back of door panel you can use a variety of adhesives, I prefer plumber's putty like AMC used.

Pair of Interior 1/4 sail cardboard panels used in 68-70 AMX. There are three different types. Some early AMX's built in 1967 (68 production) and early 68 did not have a shoulder harness, so no hole. It is believed in February or possibly March AMC (68) installed shoulder harnesses in the AMX...of which these are very close to the 1/4 glass. This setup was used until September, possibly October 1968 (1969 models) when AMC "moved" the shoulder harness mounting hole farther back, which continued into end of 1970 AMX production. These do not have the thin tin on back as originals did. Good cut and crease lines and grain. If not sure which type you need, just ask.

Replace them if gone or brittle. These are same gauge thickness and material AMC used and you can use any adhesive to affix them.

AMC left it to AM Dealer or new owner to best determine line of sight when mounting but most ended up on the dash and look great there for shows and events.

71 Hornet SC/360 Ram Air scoop

Used my own 1971 SC/360 scoop as a fiberglass mold for these Ram Air scoops, and had two types made, the original "cone" mount type, and then "brace" type. With the original Ram Air 1970 (made by Rockwell for AMC in 1970 for 71 production) scoops, the cones would break when screws put in them, later, under hood heat caused screws to expand and shatter the cones. So I stuck with the brace type, of which these have the metal braces mounted in the scoop itself, and are easier to install and everyone who has been lucky enough to get one (some people got 2-3!!) have liked them. The scoop is UNPUNCHED, that is, the ram air slits are not knocked out, you will have to do that, rather easy to cut them out. It is black gelcoat, and can be mounted as is on your Hornet, Gremlin or Concord also. There is a graphic file here under PRODUCTION/TECH on how to install your Ram Air SC/360 scoop which might help. I only have 10 of these made PER YEAR...and they go fast, usually on ebay with no reserve. You might want to email me to see if I have any in stock, again, only have 10 per year made.

TWO 79 Spirit AMXs in the grueling 24 hour Group One endurance race of Nurburgring, Germany. No other American car company had a entry. AMC finished 25th and 43rd overall, BUT FINISHED FIRST AND SECOND IN THEIR CLASS. This wonderful DVD captures the race, most of it from behind the wheel! Awesome "at speed" footage makes you feel as it you are there watching the race in 1979. Team Owner Amos Johnson, Denis Shaw, Jim Downing, Lyn St. James and actor James Brolin put these AMX's thru the tests. Team 1: Johnson, Shaw, Brolin; Team 2: Auto journalist Gary Witzenburg, Dowling, and St. James. B. F. Goodrich sponsored the cars, and amazingly enough, no tire failures in 8+ hours of this punishing race! The AMX's hit speeds of up to 140 miles per hour. This was AMC's last racing campaign. Up against Porsches, BMWs, Opels, and others in this historic race. If you are a big fan of the "Bullitt" chase scene with many in the car shots, you will undoubtly enjoy this great DVD. A awesome piece of racing history for AMC fans collections, or for those who have loved the historic 14.1 German Nurburgring racing track, and all the legends and stories it has told for decades.

AMC 71 AMX Javelin Trans Am Racing DVD

American Motors 1971 Trans Am series DVD with legendary Roger Penske; Mark Donohue. Actual Trans Am footage from several races, including interviews. Both Donohue and Penske are 35 years old in this
vintage footage. "The Trans Am Javelin Challenge" is a great bit of footage put together by American Motors (and sent to AM Dealers) to crow about Roger's & Donohue's taking out Camaros, Challengers, Mustangs and other Trans Am Series vehicles on the 1971 circuit. Follmer & Donohue go head to head over and over. Footage also has beautiful girls at the track; explosion in the pits; and of course the "Bullitt like" loud racing scenes themselves almost putting you in the seat! Peter Revson and Tony Adamowicz's yellow 71 Trans Am Javelins also featured blistering around the tracks. It also includes two smaller race films and would make a excellent addition to anyone's collection.

I used my original 16mm film for this and it is NOT YELLOWED or dark, as other Texas Takeover remakes have been, it is bright as it should be! Also in 1968 you get a rare film of AMC's Trans Am Racing effort...THE JAVELIN BREED... with the new Javelin, as George Follmer, Peter Revson, Skip Scott and crew of Kaplan Engineering take the new Javelin out on the Trans Am circuit! AMX Peter Max (Dick Teague) Poster

To commemorate Chief Stylist legend Richard Teague retiring and honor his many years at AMC and his many projects, AMC released this poster in 1981. 15 1/2" x 24 1/4" heavy stock. The artwork was mentioned in a Bulletin by AMC as 'a full color poster sized reprint' and 'this poster is original art not available anywhere else' according to S. M. Sauro of Marketing, of whom you had to go thru his office in Southfield, Michigan to get one. It was mentioned that Peter Max had some influence on it, although I have never documented that, nor did I get to ask the artist himself at a signing here in Houston. But it has been known as the "Peter Max AMX' poster since 1981 nonetheless and would make a stunning addition to anyone's office, game room, dorm, warehouse, garage.

AMX Playboy Bunny AM Dealers promotional poster 1968; Size: 20 1/2" X 16 1/2" suitable for framing, this wonderful poster enticed many a AMC Dealer at Playboy clubs thru out the US. It compares the Playboy Bunny with "new" AMX options and accessories. Not the "for AMX club members only" off to left. Comparisons like #13 'front sway bars' comparing it to the model's hips or her beautiful smile is #3 as 'standard safety features!'. Excellent and rather rare, item for one's collection.
